1. We are an active farm - you will see (and possibly smell) cows, tractors and various crops. The fence is electric with posted signs, so please do not touch and be sure to keep your distance. Do not pull corn off the stalks or pick our sunflowers. This is damaging private property.
2. Parking - we have a paved roundabout area in the front of the barn, handicap parking near the side entrance and the remaining parking is gravel. Once those areas are full, we ask that you please park along the tree line and then in the grass if necessary.
3. Alcohol - all alcohol must be served by the bartending staff. The renters (mostly the bride and groom) who have decided to have alcohol (beer and wine only) at their event, have already bought the alcohol they desire to have at their reception, paid the bartending staff to serve, monitor age and consumption, as well as paid the off duty officers to be on the property. Therefore, no outside alcohol is permitted. This includes car bars, tailgates, or coolers. Participating in bringing in your own alcohol, consuming alcohol at your vehicle, or any sort of self-serving goes against our policies, is disrespectful to the renters and will result in the loss of their security deposit. If a couple/renter has decided to NOT have alcohol at their event, please respect their decision. Don't be the reason a couple loses money!
4. Location - we are conveniently located just a few minutes off of I-77. Our address is 152 Heritage Farm Lane, Dobson NC 27017. We are near 20+ wineries, vineyards, and several hiking trails such as Pilot Mt State Park, Carter Falls, Stone Mountain, etc. We are also only about 20 minutes away from downtown Mt. Airy - better known as Mayberry. If you're traveling a long distance, we encourage you to make a trip out of your visit! There are plenty of airbnbs and hotels in the area.
5. Children - all children visiting the barn need to be monitored. This is for their own safety! During any event, there are constant moving vehicles, there could be a lit firepit, and even curiousity to touch the electric fence. Please do not allow your children to run up and down the stairs, throw rocks, climb our water feature, or destroy our landscaping/sunflower fields. We work hard to maintain the beauty of our property. We also want to make sure the children are safe and everyone is having fun!
6. Smoking - we have No Smoking signs posted near the entrance (which is the side of the barn). The designated smoking area is between the pasture and the split rail fence beside the fire pit. Do not smoke on the porch. Please smoke in the designated area and make sure all cigarette butts are thrown into the burn barrel. You wouldn't want to rent a venue covered in trash, so we are asking that you give our renters the same respect.
7. Vendors - we are not responsible for any of the vendors chosen for any event. Renters book their own vendors such as catering, DJ, photography, etc. We are not responsible for any sort of food or food/beverage service.
8. Ceremony area - we have two ceremony areas. One option is the outdoor chapel area while the other is inside the barn. We never tell a couple where they have to host their ceremony! Despite the warmer or cooler weather, renters always make the decision. Yes, we know sometimes it's too hot or cold to be outside, and yes, we know that rain showers pop up unexpectedly, but please keep in mind that we are not responsible for an indoor or outdoor ceremony decision.
